With time ,You'll realize that having a particular set of skills will make your university life a whole lot easier .Here are some tips to get you started!

Students have certain expectations when they start University, and whilst most of them will have a great time,it isn't quite the non-stop party that many people believe it is. It's a huge change from A/levels and living at home,so whilst you might have a lot of fun, there will certainly be some challenges along the way as well. Like, how do you stay healthy when living on a diet of maggi noodles? How do you juggle a part-time job to support yourself when you've got deadlines left right and centre? And how does one face the challenge of parting most nights of the week when they can barely afford to feed themselves?
Here are some hacks for surviving your University life.

1.Learn to budget

It's exciting to finally have a lot of money and once your cash comes in it can be tempting to splash out on those essentials like new clothes, cosmetics and video games.Remember that the money has already been designated to cover food, rent, transport expenses and books so try to spend it all at once.
Being independent is great fun. But it also means doing a few boring things too. Take some time to work out a budget that means you can cover all your essentials. This way,You're more likely to stay within the budget you've assigned yourself and can keep tabs of what you've spent by using the notes on your phone.

2. Start a meal plan

Having at least a particle of a routine regarding what and when you eat will prevent you from demolishing a week's shopping in a day or two,and save you a fair wad of cash.
A Great tip is to get into the habit of planning your meals, meaning you do a bigger shop once a week with a few dishes in mind( including one meal that can be divvied up into portions to feed you throughout the week).Don't forget to factor in a few snackables too though, and some emergency supplies.
One thing to ensure is that you never go shopping when you're hungry,as you'll only end up buying things you don't need.In temptations you'll end up spending a lot more than you can afford.Don't waste money on overpriced food, and don't be fooled by any of the supermarket's sneaky tricks they use to get you to spend more.

3. Learn basics cooking

It's not that difficult to eat properly at university. You just have to spend a short amount of time working out the basics and mastering a few really simple meals, and you'll be able to feed yourself and save a whole load cash in the process.
Throwing some noodles and vegetables together can make a meal that tides you over for dinner and lunch the next day. You don't have to rely on already prepared meals (because they usually tasteless),or takeaways(because they are expensive). you can get a whole load of student budget friendly recipes on online.

4.Deal with chores before they get out of hand

You have to clean your own mess now- I know life is unfair ! Unfortunately cleaning has to be done from time to time, otherwise your room will end up completely rank and you'll be ashamed to ever let anyone through the door.
It's good using a cleaning schedule so everyone contribute in,but sometimes this won't work and can cause arguments if you have any lazy roommates. So it would be better to clean together.
Put some music on have a laugh and promise each other a little party once the mess is cleaned up.This method is way more fun and gets the job done in half the time.

5. Speed read

If you have the guts to show up to your class without having done the reading, a quick speed read can help bring you up to date with what's going on,It can help for revision as well.
it's not adviceable to speed reading an entire subject but for articles and short chapters,It's certainly better than doing no reading at all.
Use highlighter to bring out any important sections. This means when you're in your seminar or exams, it won't look like you haven't done absolutely nothing. If at any point you get put on the spot ,you can divert discussion towards one of the "interesting" passages you highlighted when you read the article "thoroughly"the night before.

6.Asking for help.

This goes for all stages of your life-If you're struggling to keep up with coursework, speak to your tutors. If you don't speak up about this stuff, the situation will only get worse as more deadlines pile up and If you're having doubts in subjects ask your friends help to clear them.
Likewise,if you're having financial stress it's really important for you to reach out and get some help. Also you can manage your financial needs by doing weekends or evening part time job according to your studies.

7.Don't just ignore any difficult roommates

Unfortunately ,it's not always goody goody. If you find yourself living with someone who's making things tricky, talk it out with them.Ignoring the situation will never result in it "sorting itself out",and could result in a nasty passive-aggressive atmosphere.Understandable,it can be harder to deal with problematic roommates if they also happen to be your friends. You don't want to loose your friendship, but not addressing the issue could just likely lead to this. You don't deserve to be unhappy in your own room(home).

Enjoy all your hard work while doing the groundwork for a successful university career.Don't be statistic;be determined to make it through your university years-and beyond.Take advantage of your network of new friends and professors, have fun while learning as much as you can,and get the most out of your university experience.
