Sherlock Holmes is everyone's favorite fictional detective and his partner and friend John Watson brings out the mysteries to us simple minded people. There are too many adaptations of it, including Robert Downey Jr's movies to Tamil movie Thupparivaalan. Recently I was introduced to Sherlock Holmes British TV series which starred Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman, which was by far the best portrayals of Sherlock and John. And then I got to know of the American version of Sherlock Holmes TV series named "Elementary" with a woman Watson, yes Joan Watson and it portrays Sherlock as a womanizer, drug addict, and a lovesick person. Most of the major characters have been altered and tampered down to their personalities and attitudes.

A lot of criticism rose for the American version of Sherlock Holmes when compared to the British version which portrays exactly the same but staged in the 21st century. Which one do you think is the best? Elementary or Sherlock Holmes?
