Hi everyone,
I’ve been noticing that more and more young people in Sri Lanka are talking about how tough it is to manage daily expenses. Rent, food, transport, and even small leisure activities feel so much more expensive compared to just a few years ago. Many of us who are studying or just starting our careers find it hard to save or even make ends meet.
Some small things I’ve seen people try (and maybe you do too):
- Cooking at home instead of eating out often
- Using public transport or carpooling instead of relying on ride-hailing every day
- Tracking expenses with apps or even a simple Excel sheet
- Looking out for online discounts, second-hand items, and seasonal offers
- Freelancing or doing part-time gigs to add a little extra income
I’m curious to hear from others here:
- How are you personally coping with the rising cost of living?
- Do you think things are getting slightly better now, or still worse?
- What tips or strategies do you use to budget/manage your expenses?
Would love to hear your thoughts and experiences!
