As per the above quote, I believe appreciations make people to perform best.It's give them a positive push and motivation to do their best.



How did you feel when you received appreciations?

Do you agree it will make you to perform more?

Depends.. appreciation and criticism are two extreme feedbacks we could get for our work. Some people get motivated with appreciation and work more. Some people get head weight. And in the case of criticism, some people get motivated with criticism and work to overcome those criticism some others just feel broken with them..
We should learn to take them both as motivation to do more and better than our previous works.
