In Sri Lanka many people have a mentality of judging a person based on the results they get in the A/L examination. This sometimes becomes a reason for some suicides of youngsters.
They set a fine line between those who enter into medical and E-faculty and those who fail to enter those faculties.
A student who is not eligible to enter medicine or engineering are portrayed as a person who is not worth living in the society!
What kind of mentality is this? There are a lot more to explore and learn in this vast world. There are more and more opportunities out there.
In my POV, if a student fails to enter those faculties even after great efforts and hard works and ends up just getting three passes or entering into some other faculties; yes it's more than enough to survive.
On the other hand, if a student realizes his/her mistakes after the results and try to change themselves it's much better as well.
We all are humans and not god, all of us do mistakes in our life. The society should change their views on judging a person based on their A/L results.
