Is humor an aid or a distraction in content writing?

I' a content creator and so far I have been able to connect with those articles which have a subtle humour component in them. Since my reading materials range from different genres and fields, I considered humour to be an interesting mechanism in a writing. When I write a technical article, if everything sounds surgical and scientific, only a limited crowd would be willing to go through that torture. Instead, I thought why not infuse some humour into it, and make the articles simpler so that anyone would wanna read it and that's what I did.

What is your stand on this? Do you consider humour to keep reading the content or is it merely an unwanted distraction?

True Shana humor would attract more readers towards our content. Sometimes me too add humor in my content but I never experiment humor in technical articles, Maybe it's time to try it
