If your guilty of something you have done to others then it is definitely hard to self accept, if you're not guilty then you do not have to worry about anything, instead you can just go on with that self confiddence.
You got it wrong I didn't ask how to accept our guilt, I asked how to accept our own self. Hope you understand the difference between both.
