Sri Lankan education system! How efficient is it?

Personally I've seen a lot of students who score the best in Gr.5 scholarship to Ordinary level examinations..But in the final run in Advanced Levels, they all fall out from their standard or they find it tough to follow.
IS it just me or have you guys seen such situation?
Are we measuring one's intelligence in the wrong way or may be are all students of Sri Lanka being taught to achieve?
What is your point of view on this?
Any personal experiences of having experienced such thoughts in real life?

You makes remember my past. I thought the education system in Sri Lanka mainly focus in memorizing stuff. When it comes creativity in knowledge very few will exist. But comparing with other countries the level of education here is good. But if they concern more on practical knowledge it'll be fine.

It is completely inefficient. The present system is not for career building. It's for marks building.. another thing is the section creteria for universities.. if a student wants to be a doctor why should he be before the certain rank? If he gets certain marks which will check his knowledge to be a doctor, is not that enough? First 10 students selected for medicine doesn't means that 11 th student will be bad doctor if we take him in. He may be more passionate about serving patients than the first rank.
Another thing is most of the students decide their career field just when they apply the first form. So just some of the students will be experts in their fields. Those who get self awareness about their career when they come to universities.

True Assassin comparing to other Asian countries Sri Lankan education system is very good but, still we are making students to memorize their text books rather than make them to create their innovative ideas.

Well said Karikaalan the quota system in our county should be changed. We need to allow the students to choose the fields that they're passionate about then we can provide fulfilling career for each and every students.
