Seeking approval from others in our personal and business lives is not unusual. But in a world where we live so much of our lives online, the approval of others is more and more relevant.

Have we become a society that cares too much what other people think of us?

Does it hold us back?

Everyone should have a self assessment. We need to define our own ethics and values but it’s different for person to person. When we know that we are doing correct we don’t need to care about what others think about it . Sometimes we feel Reluctant to do somethings in this scenario we have to care about the others ( people who really care about us) approvals or opinion. Day to day life if you are waiting or expecting for other’s approval you can’t even walk yourself.

I would say it depends on what kind of person you are and how you will take this feedback and it's matter " how you think and how you will take it "but definitely how others think about you in a general cases.

You are partially correct Arthi , Sometimes we think we are doing correct But in reality we're not .In this scenario we definitely want someone to point out our mistakes.The moral is we have to be open to the ideas of others for our own growth.

True words, But it's in our human nature we always want to hear good things about us, If someone say anything negative about us even if it's for our own good we become intolerable.

True, We too much worry about what society will think of us. But we Should ignore unwanted opinions of society. Then only we can lead a happy life.
