Are there possibilities of robots turning on us in future?

While the artificial intelligence technology is being drastically increasing it is clear that AI is never going to go backwards from this point.
Meanwhile the fear on robots is also being increased.Some people are afraid that the world would be dominated or even ruled by robots in the future and some even think that they can turn on us and treat us as slaves or their servants.
The fact is that we cannot clearly oppose this statement since whatever we guess about the future technology probably would be wrong and the future technologies would definitely be far beyond our imagination.


But are there chances of robots becoming our enemies or tuning on us? What makes us think that they'll turn on us?
