Total Number of Backlinks is Irrelevant to Google

During the Google Search Central SEO hangout on February 19, a website owner asked the following question to Google’s John Mueller: “What matters most the number of unique referring backlink domains or the total number of backlinks?”

for that Mueller answers that the total number of backlinks a website has doesn’t matter at all to the search algorithm. further, he stated that one good link from a relevant website can be more impactful than millions of low-quality backlinks.
