Do you believe in spontaneous trait transference?

Hey guys,
Spontaneous trait transference is a wired psychological phenomena which states that a person's character is based on the fact they communicate with others.
It is said that the characteristics we describe about others get transformed to us easily.

If a person disparage others ,that person will be given a negative character, while he/she will be given a positive character when that person compliments others.
It's simply judging a person based on what they talk about others.

I believe that our thoughts become our traits but don't whether our perception about others also become our traits, I still doubt this concept.
