Has intuition or the voice inside saved you from danger?

Intuition, the feeling that warns us of something fishy when something is definitely fishy or makes us uncomfortable where we don't feel so secure deep inside.
I've heard many stories that their intuition saved their lives a lot more than once. Stories of avoiding a road, in which later a huge accident happened at the time, or not opening the door for a sales rep who turned out to be a con in the area and it goes on. The intuition!

What is it? Why does it happen? How does our inner mind foresee the adversaries coming our way?

Research has found that human brain can creates image of future movement in fast forward and our brain work in coordination with the past experience to predict the future outcomes. I think this is the reason our inner voice always save us from danger.
