What is the reason for the increased rate of divorces nowadays?

Everywhere we go, we hear the word "DIVORCED". It's funny how often have we started hearing that word these days! It has become a usual word.
But how come this was not so usual a decade ago? Why was divorce so rare those times and so casual now?

The bride and groom get a chance to mingle and get to know each other these days than before so that they'd understand well. But divorce count has gone up as opposed to what was expected.
What do you think is the reason for such a situation?

Lack of maturity and understanding between couples and their big fat egos are the reason for the increasing rate of divorce.
