Horror movies, a new bad trend in Kollywood?

At early 2000, you can see number of spiritual films trending at that time. But after 10 years the number of horror films increased. Post-success of that film, directors make next part of the film. What is the reason behind this change? Do you think it is an influence of negativity we are holding on? Or it is the easiest way for success film making?

I personally think that the directors who are not ready to take risks are the ones who follow a particular trend just to safeguard themselves from making flop movies.

It is not the easiest way. It is the cheapest way. Horror films need less location and lest characters than any other genre but it's highly commercial. Hollywood keep producing a big number horror films every year which are more healthier films than Tamil films.
The reason for spritual movies and horror movies releasing in plenty in particular seasons is lack of producers who have film knowledge. The film Pizza and kanchana restarted the horror film season in Tamil whereafter many producers believed that horror movies will easily earn money. But they should understand that the quality and content should be high. So many bad horror movies have released which are not up to the mark

Highly agreeable. The producers play an important role in film industry. Their one and only intention is 'money'. So that's why they choose commercial films with cheapest stories. In fact we can't compare Hollywood standard with Kollywood horror films. They are another level of creation.
