Can Religious Beliefs affect Scientific Thinking?

Some say religious beliefs contribute to Science like, everything being said in Religion is scientifically proven.
Meanwhile, some say that religion stands in the way of Science and obstructs the open thinking of people.

Which one would you agree more?
Do you think religion is something that should be developed for the sake of Science, or are we better off in technology without religion?

Truth is nothing to fear, so there is no reason for a person to fear good science. Learning more about the way God constructed our universe helps all of mankind appreciate the wonder of creation

For me science and religion both are connected with each other, so I love to follow them both equally.

    Hi,
Science is apart of Culture, and culture norms had depended on scientific reason. I like my culture the reasoning is scientific background.

Same here Wondergirl, I love my religious and cultural norms because most of them are back up with scientific facts. Science and religion both help me to improve myself and become a wise person.
