    Question Are we wasting our time on something to get that pleasure of Dopamine hit?

    Hi guys,

    Dopamine is the chemical released whenever we feel pleasure.
    Most of the things we get addicted to gives us the pleasure through Dopamine. May it be playing a game, or chatting with a particular person daily, all we get at the end is a pleasure with a dopamine hit! And finally we get distracted from what we should actually do and keep wasting our time.

    Do you think we really need a Dopamine hit to fullfill our day with happiness or are we just wasting our time on searching for that feel? Share your view.
    Do what is RIGHT, NOT what is EASY!

    Whatever the emotions we feel all because of the hormonal reactions in our body so In that sense we can't say we are doing everything for a hormonal release ans its effects likewise pleasure also a feeling and it's also necessary to lead a happy life but we shouldn't become addicted to it. Hope you got your answer.
    You're not going to master the rest of your life in one day. Don't stress. Master the day. Make this a daily reminder.

    It's easy to say when we define happiness as a "hit of dopamine". But nothing is so easy as that. May be as you say we are driven by the need to be get that hit of dopamine. But isn't happiness the thing we are looking for forever in life? As far as I know, even love is simulated by Dopamine. Just because of that, we don't ignore it. Had we accepted happiness or pleasure as just the work of dopamine, every one of us would have become a drug addict by now. May be we are a kind of addicts to that chemical. But we're definitely not wasting our time. The incessant search in our minds to be happy is what drives our life. Without that, human race would have been extinct centuries ago.

    Well said Shana, As you said we are kind of addicted to our hormone changes. But, sure it's not just the chemical reaction that make us happy. Happiness is something more than these chemical reactions. it's a pure feeling of bliss.
    You're not going to master the rest of your life in one day. Don't stress. Master the day. Make this a daily reminder.
