What is the right response when someone says "I have heard so much about you"?

We often face a situation like this where people come and say that they have heard so much about us. This means there was a back talk about us and the specific person want to notify us about it or want to clarify if the things he or she heard about us is true or not. In this kind of situation, how would you respond to the person?

You are right by asking them what kind of information they heard about us we can answer them properly. Can you tell how can we handle the situation when people spreading false and negative information about us?
