Does continuously looking at computer affect the eyesight?

I have read that continously lookng at the computer screen for along period of time can cause temporary eyes problems to us. Can you guys explain me how does it affect our eyesight? Thank You.

Continuous use of computer can cause eyestrain,eye dryness and blurred vision. Some have headache as well.
