The objective of social media introduction was to increase the interpersonal communication among people. But I think the process has been reversely happening. The more we are spending time in virtual life, we sacrifice the real life communications. Among the negative impacts of social media on interpersonal relations, the most destructive one is alienation. Social medias contribute to the rewiring of relationships from real world to virtual world which exactly leads to alienation.People often tend to invest less energy in their immediate present. It causes to weakening of social ties, loss of the ability to communicate and engage oneself in that interaction, and social alienation.
