I don't think movies are the only reason.Teens also get influenced by those they really admire and the so called "role models".When a teenager encounters that their role model feels cool about having a habit of smoking or drinking liqueur too much they start to believe that it's actually a right thing to do! Later on they start discussing about this with their friends and insist them to do so.Here the chain begins. This is really a sad thing indeed.
May be some awareness on social media through memes and videos could help it better.
