If an undergrad is patient and determined enough to study for 4 years in a university environment, then he/she earns some kind of trust or respect from others. That is a reason why degree holders are respected. If we eliminate the concept of degree from our society, what kind of replacement do we have?Everyone keeps on complaining about the education system, examinations, and degrees! But what replacement or substitute do we propose? Nothing. If we complain about a problem, then we need to have a solution!
There is solution.. We should apply and study something that interests us or we have to develop the interest in the field we have got selected to.. But what is happening in Sri Lanka is students apply for courses to just get any degree and then just follow the course to finish and get the degree.

The choice is given to us! We get to apply for the course which we think will most suit us! If we don't select the correct field of study, whose fault is that?
